SPV Flashcards
When is High Flow provided regardless of the PACK FLOW switch position?
APU Bleed
or
Single PACK operation
What is the purpose of the DITCHING pb?
Sends a close signal to inlets and valves below the water line:
- Outflow valve (if in auto)
- Emergency RAM inlet
- Avionics inlet and extract valves
- PACK flow control valves
What does a fault light in the MODE SEL pb on the Cabin Press panel represent?
Illuminates amber with ECAM caution when:
Both CPCs are faulty
What 3 lights on overhead panel should illuminate for AVIONICS SMOKE?
Emer Elec Pwr Panel GEN 1 LINE - smoke Ventilation Panel BLOWER - fault EXTRACT - fault
(All in Amber)
What are 3 methods to disconnect the Autothrust?
Which of these will cause a thrust lock condition?
3 will cause thrust lock
- Press instinctive disconnect (preferred)
- Thrust Levers to Idle
- Press A/THR pushbutton
What action is required to restore conventional manual thrust control from a Thrust Lock condition?
Move thrust levers out of the CL (or MCT) detent
On takeoff what Speed does SRS command?
- Normally (all engines operating)
V2 + 10
What does the lateral Mode RWY represent?
Runway mode is engaged. Provides (FD yaw bar) steering guidance during takeoff roll, and initial climb (30ft RA) if a localizer signal is available.
Based on the FMA what is the status of the autothrust in blue?
Armed
During a normal takeoff when will the autothrust become engaged?
When pulling back the thrust levers to the CL detent
What is the difference between the vertical mode CLB and OP CLIMB
CLB - managed mode: FMGS programmed altitude constraints are taken into account. NAV must be engaged.
OP CLB - programmed altitude constraints are ignored
Describe ALT CRZ
- Altitude Hold (cruise) mode is engaged.
- Pitch guidance given to hold cruise altitude +-50ft to minimize thrust variations until descent initiated.
What is the difference between DES and OP DES?
DES - managed descent mode that provides pitch guidance to honor altitude constraints if NAV engaged.
OP DES - Open Descent Mode. Pitch guidance is given to maintain airspeed
What does the S Speed represent during a takeoff or go-around?
Slat Retraction Speed - it appears while in flaps 1 and is the slowest speed to select flaps 0.
What does green dot represent?
The Speed corresponding to the best Lift-to-Drag ratio.
Minimum maneuvering Speed in the clean configuration
Which symbol represents VFE?
Amber =
What does the F Speed represent during Approach?
Minimum Speed for that flap setting.
Top of amber line?
Top of black/amber strip?
Top of solid red line?
Top of red/black line?
VLS
@ PROT becomes avail
@ MAX - max angle of attack available
VSW - stall warning speed
If an evacuation is initiated from the cabin, what indications would we have on the Flight Deck?
The EVAC light flashes red and the horn sounds for 3 seconds in the flight deck only. EVAC panel overhead
If your ACP failed, how would you communicate?
On the audio switching panel, turn the selector to CAPT 3 or FO 3, then use my acoustic equipment and the third occupant’s ACP.
If AC BUS 1 fails, will the AC ESS BUS have power?
Yes, via AC BUS 2
What does the AC ESS FEED fault light represent?
AC ESS BUS unpowered.
Illuminates amber with an ECAM caution.
What does a FAULT light in the IDG 1 or 2 pb represent?
- IDG oil outlet overheat
2. IDG low oil pressure
What electrical source is supplying AC BUS 1 and AC BUS 2?
- Gen 1 ON
- GEN 2 amber FAULT light
- EXT PWR blue ON light
- GEN 1 supplies AC BUS1
- EXT PWR supplies AC BUS 2
IDG 1 and 2
External Power
APU
For an Engine Fire system test what are the cockpit indications?
- CRC (continuous repetitive chime) sounds
- MASTER WARN lights flash
- Engine Fire 1(2) warning on ECAM
On Fire Panel: - ENG FIRE pb lights up red
- SQUIB lights illuminate white if discharge supplies are available
- DISCH lights illuminate amber
On ENG panel (pedestal) - FIRE lights illuminate red
What automatically occurs if you have an APU Fire on the ground?
- APU shuts down
2. Extinguishing agent discharges
What does the amber DISCH 1 light represent?
Low pressure in the respective halon bottle
Extinguishing agent
What occurs when the RACK POWER is selected OFF?
- Power is removed from the aft avionics rack.
- WADL, CMVC, LIVE TV, and XM Satellite Radio system shut off
Wireless aircraft datalink
SMOKE illuminates if detected, along with an aural alert
What is the primary purpose of the ELAC(s)?
Control of:
Elevator
Aileron
Horizontal Stabilizer
Process pilot and autopilot inputs according to normal, alt, direct laws
