- Contain sodium, aids in retention of fluids.
- Provide energy boost through concentrated glucose.

Hypertonic Drinks

- Higher levels of carbs than Isotonic or hypotonic.
- Replaces spent glycogen
- Absorbed slowly, not ideal for rapid hydration.
- Best time to drink is after exercise.
