Neuro Deficits above T4

Answer 1

• Maintain body temperature with blankets and warming blanket, if needed
• Initially treat hypotension with a LR bolus up to 1L
• If unable to obtain MAP >80, initiate Norepinephrine drip 0-1 mcg/kg/min (IBW) to achieve a goal MAP > 80 Mix 4 mg Norepinephrine in 250 ml D5W. (16mcg/mL)

Question 2

Peds Neuro Deficit above T4

Answer 2

• Maintain body temperature with chem and wool blankets if needed
• Treat hypotension with NS or LR 20 ml/kg bolus first, then Norepinephrine drip Mix 4 mg
  Norepinephrine in 250 ml D5W. (16 mcg/mL):
• Titrate from 0.1 – 2 mcg/kg/min to achieve:
• MAP > 60 in children 6 – 12 years old
• MAP > 50 in children less than 6 years old
