Define spinal cord injury

A

Injury to the cord at any level resulting in a change, either permanent or temporary, in the normal motor, sensory or autonomic function of the cord

What is the prognosis for a spinal cord injury?

A

no way to reverse damage

Treatment is focused on preventing further injury and facilitating as much of a return to an active life as possible

Most improvements made within 6 months, slow improvement for 1-2 years after
