SPEED PowerFlex Flashcards
What is the fault set requirement per PD?
3
MDMs also need to be spread across fault sets
What is the most important consideration when sizing fault sets?
spare capacity
when we have 3 fault sets we need to allow one fault set to fit in the other two in case of failure (space capacity needs to be 34% when all fault sets are equal)
why customers use fault sets when they have around 10 or more since spare capacity would only be 10% which is standard
How many snapshots are allowed per volume on PowerFlex?
126
What is true of all snapshots on PowerFlex?
all thin provisioned - acts as a normal volume
What is a vTree (volume tree)?
tree spanning from the source volume whose siblings are either snapshots of the volume itself or descendants of it
What is the vTree limit on PowerFlex?
127 members (1 taken up by original volume and than 126 snaps)
What are the QoS options on PowerFlex?
limiting workload per volume (IOPS/bandwidth on SDCs)
changing default values of rebuild, rebalance, and migration
