Q

What is going on with this dog? What is it a disease of?

A

Cataracts, most common disease of the lens, seen in response to injury of the lens. Opacity is just in the lens you can still see the iris .

21
Q

German shepards are prone to this type of keratitis?

A

Pannus - chronic superficial keratitis only involves cornea

22
Q

Cause of bacterial keratitis in cows?

A

Moraxella Bovis

23
Q

What is going on with this cat?

A

Corneal endothelial dystrophy

24
Q

What is wrong with this eye and what species is this normally seen in?

A

Corneal sequestrum which is seen in cats from an area of necrosis

25
Anterior uveitis?
iris and ciliary body
26
Posterior Uveitis?
Chroid
27
Chrioretinitis?
Chroid and retina
28
Endopthalmitis
uvea , retina, vitreous
29
Panopthalmitis
cornea and sclera?
30
Mdx is ulcerative keratitis and hypopyon which portion of the eye is effected?
Exudate is settling in the anterior chamber so anterior uveitis
31
Iris Bombe in a cat?
Pressure at the back of the eye pushes the iris forward
32
What does the term hyphema mean?
Blood in the anterior chamber - uvea or retina can result in glaucoma
33
What is the name of this condition and what is the etiology?
Cyclopia . synopthalmus Incomplete separation of orbits during angiogenesis Ingestion of veratum californicum on day 14 of gestation
34
Name of this condition and etiology in a CALF not Cat :)
Microphthalmia and et BVD
35
Define Ankyloblephraon
adhesion of the ciliary edges of the eye together
36
Distichia
Eyelash arising from abnormal location on the eyelid or grows in an abrnormal direction
37
Coloboma
notch like defects of the optic disc, retina and uvea as a result of defective closure of the embyonic fissure of the eye. Collie eye anomaly
38
What type of neoplasia is this ? Benign or Malignant? Glaucoma? Metasitis high or Low?
Feline diffuse iris melanoma malignant low metastisis yes to glaucoma
39
What is the most common metastasis involving the eyes of cats?
Uveal lymphoma
40
Intraocular sarcomas are unique to what speices?
Cats, cows, common after trauma, malignant, optic nerve
41
What can cause corneal pigmentation in cats?
Porphyrins from tear film response to injury- keatitis derived from uvea- staphyloma
42

Decreased vascularity Optic disc atrophy Changes in tapetal reflection
43
Causes of retinal atrophy and degeneration?
senile change inherited metabolic defect of photoreceptors, toxicity, metabolic ,increased IOP, retinal detachment

Feline idiopathic lymphoplasmacytic uveitis Equine recurrent uveitis
46
Retinal lesions are usually caused from?
Optic nerve hypolasia missing optic nerve
47
Otitis interna consequences?
Meningitis Vestibular disease Sensory hair cell loss- hearing impairment
48
Stye
common name for bacterial infection of hair follicle or meibomian gland
49
Retinitis
usually an extension from chroiditis o encephalitis, neurotropic viral infections, visceral larval migrans,
