 in 2017-19 is 103.
* Highest in Assam 205 and lowest in Kerala 30.
In 2016-18 was 113
In 2015-17 was 122.

Answer 1

MM Ratio is proportion of maternal deaths per
1,00,000 live births reported under SRS.

MM Rate is maternal death to women in age 15 to 49 per lakh of women in that age group
* 6.5 in 2017-19.

Question 2

As per WHO, maternal death is the death of a woman while pregnant or within 42 days of termination of pregnancy but not from accidental or incidental causes.

Answer 2

The target of 3.1 of sustainable development goals set by UN aims at reducing the Global MMR to less than 70 per 1 lakh live births.

Question 3

States categorised into three groups namely;-

* Empowered action group comprising
 Bihar ,
Jharkhand ,
Madhya Pradesh ,
Chhattisgarh,
 Orissa,
 Rajasthan,
 Uttar Pradesh and 
Uttarakhand and
 Assam.

Answer 3

* Southern States which include 
Andhra Pradesh 
telangana 
Karnataka
 Kerala and 
Tamilnadu.
