Spatial networks Flashcards
Are structural elements outside the net considered to b din the falling space? Why
No.
Whats’ a planar net
3-dimensional assembly of two or more planar nets one above the other
What’s a converging part
any two linear elements, i.e. not flat surfaces, the distance between which diminishes along their length
Protection from falling - how do spatial nets ensure this?
meshes of a spatial network shall not be so large as to allow an imaginary cylindrical body in a vertical position, with a diameter of 650 mm and a height of 1 800 mm,
If the cylindrical body passes through, the falling height and the shock absorbing surface shall conform to EN 1176-1.
Planar nets - if the gap between the upper and lower net is larger than 1m what is the max opening when unloaded?
420 mm when unloaded
Planar nets - if the mesh is greater than 420 what CFH is required?
critical fall height appropriate for the highest planar net
Where is the fall height of a spatial net measured from?
From where the mesh is big enough to allow a cylinder body through (650-1800)
When are Converging parts within spatial networks exempt from the requirements of head and neck entrapments
Where two linear elements converge at least one shall be flexible.
Above 600 mm from the ground the angle formed between converging parts with a lower edge above the horizontal shall be more than 55°.
use the test template head first, and re-measure the angle using a protractor. Looking for min of 55 deg.
