State the steps in the investigating springs experiment.

A

1.Set up the apparatus with the 0 on the ruler being at the bottom of the upstretched spring

2.Measure the length of the spring with no weights hanging on it and write it down’

3.Hang 1 Newton weight on the spring. Record the extension of the spring using the ruler

4.Repeat step 3 until you have found the extension of the spring with 10 different masses

5.Repeat steps 1-4 with a different spring

6.Use results to calculate spring constant for each spring
