He often spent time to himself to meditate on life and how it should be lived. He had a vision of an angel named Gabriel, he believed the angel was a messenger from God.

A

He began preaching his revelations and said there was only 1 God he called Allah and that people should pray to God alone. He said all believers were equal in God’s eyes, the rich should share their wealth with the poor. People should be judged on their actions, not their wealth.

A

It was a shrine people visited to worship many different Gods. People spent a lot of money in Mecca. Merchants were afraid people would not travel to Mecca and visit their shops if they did not believe in these Gods anymore.

A

Muhammed learned of the Meccans plans to kill him so he and a trusted friend secretly left Mecca and went to Medina. The religion he supported became known as islam and followers became known as Muslims.
