A

Put an alarm or buzzer into a bell jar and connect it to a vacuum pump.as air is removed,the sound becomes fainter. Conclusion: sound needs a medium in which to travel.

Is a form of energy.it is produced by vibrations (vocal chords, air molecules,ear drums) sound can travel through a solid, a liquid,or a gas. It cannot travel through a vacuum therefore it needs a medium to travel through.
