SOP - Stage 2: Assessment Flashcards
What is the purpose of stage 2 (assessment)?
Evaluate CM opportunities against design principles and ensure CM implementation is viable.
What does stage 2 (assessment) prompt businesses to do?
Review opportunities found in the identification stage (stage 1) and estimate the cost/benefit
After stage 2 (assessment), if processes are assessed as suitable for CM, what happens?
The processes are endorsed and proceed to the Design and Build stage (stage 3)
What are the 3 key activities in stage 2 (assessment)?
- Conduct gap analysis against the design principles.
- Assess viability of CM.
- Obtain endorsement from relevant/impacted stakeholders.
What are the 4 CM design principles?
- Relevant to process objective.
- System-driven
- Full population
- Notification upon detection
Under the CM design principles, what do we mean by: system-driven?
- Detection is via automated data ingestion.
- Comparison is near real-time (within maximum 2 business days)
Under the CM design principles, what do we mean by: full population?
Covers entire data set of in-scope transactional data
Under the CM design principles, what do we mean by: Notification (upon detection)?
Informs failure of process to nominated persons upon detection. Active monitoring of notifications must happen so that appropriate action is taken.
When assessing the viability of implementing CM, what 3 things must be considered?
- Cost/benefit analysis.
- Technical expertise (either have or can outsource).
- Resource availability (to meet expected implementation timelines)
What are the three steps to obtain endorsement from relevant/impacted stakeholders?
- Document findings from completed CM blueprint (and supporting data, assumptions, decision criteria).
- Share findings.
- Obtain endorsement of CM blueprint from accountable executive, impacted stakeholders, and DCO/Risk partner
Under what circumstances can you proceed to the design/build stage without endorsement?
It cannot be done.
