  • frequent clients of plastic surgeons
  • consumers of recreational surgery
  • usually dissatisfied with results
  • often start lawsuits
  • usually have low self esteem

How are somatoform disorders treated?

A

CBT!!

  • adjunct therapy: meditation, aerobic exercise, relaxation
  • TCAs may relieve functional symptoms
