10 + 25x = 24x + 12

Second:

25x = 24x + 2

Finally:

-24x -24x

x = 2

Gold example:

The length of a rectangle is 2cm less than x7 the width.

The perimeter is 60cm.

What are the dimensions of the rectangle?

Answer 2

First:

length: 7x - 2
width: x

Second:

16x - 4 = 60

Third:

+4 +4

16x = 64

divided both sides by 16

Fourth:

x = 4

Finally:

length: 26cm
width: 4cm
