Solubility Flashcards
Solubility of halogen salts (chlorides, bromides, and iodides) in water?
All soluble, except solutions containing: silver, lead, or mercury.
Solubility of nitrates in water?
All soluble. No exceptions.
Solubility of hydroxides in water?
Only alkali metal hydroxides (sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide) solutions are soluble; most of the rest are not.
Solubility of carbonates in water?
Only alkali metal carbonates (sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate) and ammonium (NH4+) carbonate solutions are soluble in water; the rest are not.
Solubility of lead compounds in water?
Only lead nitrate (Pb(NO3)2) is soluble in water; the rest are not.
Solubility of ammonium salts in water?
All are soluble. No exceptions.
Solubility of sodium/potassium salts in water?
All are soluble. No exceptions.
Solubility of sulphates?
All soluble except: lead sulphate, barium sulphate and calcium sulphate.
