Solid Geometry Flashcards
What is a Face?
A flat surface.
What are Edges?
The intersections of two faces.
What are Vertices?
Points that are intersections of three or more faces.
What is a Cone?
A figure formed by a circular base and a curved surface that connects the base to a vertex.
What are Rectangular Prisms?
Figures with bases that are rectangles connected by faces that are Parallelograms.
What is a Net?
A diagram of the surfaces of a three-dimensional figure that can be folded to form the three-dimensional figure. To identify a figure from a net, look at the amount of faces and the shapes of each face.
What is a Cylinder?
A figure formed by two parallel congruent circular bases and a curved surface that connects the bases.
What is a Pentagonal Pyramid?
A figure formed by a pentagonal base and triangular faces that meet at a common vertex.
What is a Cross Section?
The intersection of a three-dimensional figure and a plane.
