Q

What are the steps for hard soldering?

A
  • Apply heat, let heat migrate to the joint
  • Watch the flux. First it turns white as the water evaporates. When it turns clear you are very close
  • Apply solder. Wait. It will ball up initially, then suck in (capiliiary action)
  • Remove heat. Over heating causes oxydization.
  • Do not quench.
  • Remove excess flux (wash or pick off)
