Soda Lake - RA Flashcards
Explain the Big Bird
This is a reference to one of the animals that live in the Mojave Desert. Slowly lifts his front leg into an distorted arabesque w his foot pointing directly out to the audience. Standing leg remains bent whilst he lifts his arms above his head, an animal spreading its wings. In addition, opening his chest & arching his back. Suggest a bird threatening another animal trying to claim its territory by showing off its size & strength.
Explain the Sentinel
He crawls forward along the floor w the arms placed directly below their shoulders & knees placed on the floor so their torso is stretched outwards. Their feet are pointed behind them as they face the front looking directly out into the audience. Slowly lifts their R arm so it is directly in line w their shoulder & tilting their head upwards before they switch to lift their L arm. Represents an animal looking over its territory for potential prey & predators.
