What is a norm
A pattern of behavior that people in society normally do
What is a value
A lasting idea or belief that guide an individual’s behavior
What is consensus theory
The theory that all institutions agree on something all their beliefs and values
What is conflict theory
The idea that there is social inequality between social groups like one that is dominant and one that isn’t
What is secondary socialization
Learning the norms and values outside of the family. Examples include the peer groups, schools and sport groups

Learning the norms and values through the family
