A
  • Equal opportunities
  • Students that develop later can move setc etc
  • Allows for mixed ability teaching, so the cleverest can help the weaker students
  • Larger schools can offer a range of courses
  • No issues with ‘parity of esteem’

  • Lower standards. Students not pushed hard enough so academically strong students miss out
  • Poorer behaviour of less able impacted everyone
