Q

What was the Procedure of Tajfel’s study into Social Identity Theory?

A

A sample of boys were divided into groups labelled ‘Klee’ and ‘Kandinsky’, where they were asked to rate 12 paintings by each artist.

They were given 2 point allocation systes:
1) Their points increase, the other groups’ decrease
2) If they gave themselves a high score, the other team would get a higher score. If they gave themselves a mid-range value, the other group received the same points. If they gave themselves a low value, the other team would only get 1 point.
