This is an interpersonal relationship between individual or organization possessing special expertise and someone who needs the expertise to solve a specific problem. Social work * is a problem-solving process in which advice and other helping activity is offered by this person. It has a goal and focus, and is more temporary in nature than supervision. A ** has no administrative authority over those to whom the advice is given.
Consultant
The objective of supervision is to:
1) Improve the quality of an organizations service through more effective work by staff members
2) To maintain social workers capacities to effectively cope with their work and difficult situations through support and guidance
It is an educational and administrative process used extensively and social agencies. In essence supervision provides quality assurance to clients while helping social workers develop and refine their skills. Educational supervision is distinguished from administrative supervision. There’s also a supportive component to supervision. The supervisor is not to enter a therapeutic relationship with the supervisee.
Client have greater power in the community agencies. Supervision may focus on loyalty to the agency because community organization often affects organizational interest. Supervisors in this setting may be more task oriented.
In social work, this term is most often used synonymously with management. Social work * implement administrative methods with the expectation that professional values and ethics will foster the provision of effective inhumane services to client. The function of **** are: Planning and organizing; controlling, obtaining, and allocating funding; collecting data; staffing; and leadership. The administrator meets organizational goals, protects the survival of the organization; and promotes organizational growth.
Administration
These organizations are local agencies that are partly funded by the federal government. They provide a range of psychiatric and social services to provide people who live in their catchment area. There are three approaches associated with this: 1) Primary prevention (which reduces the occurrence of mental disorder by reducing the number of cases). Example recreation centers are considered primary prevention because they help prevent stress related disorders. 2) Secondary prevention (reduces the extent or severity of a problem example: early intervention programs that screen children for hearing on our secondary prevention)
3) Tertiary prevention (reduces the negative after effects. Example: most forms of clinical interventions are considered tertiary prevention)
Community mental health
This is a process of intervention used by social workers to help collectives of people who have common interests in solving some social problem. Overall social well-being is enhanced through planned collective action. Community organizers identify problem areas; analyze causes; formulate plans; develop strategies; mobilize resources; identify and recruit community leaders; And facilitate collective action. Social workers act as enablers; activist; and planners.
Community organization
These are set of moral principles and perceptions about right versus wrong and the resulting philosophy of conduct.
