DEMOCRACY
A system of government in which power is vested in the people, who rule either directly or through elected representatives.
CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT
A social and political movement advocating for equal rights and treatment of African Americans in the United States, primarily during the 1950s and 1960s.
SUPPLY & DEMAND
The economic principle that describes the relationship between the availability of a commodity (supply) and the desire of buyers for it (demand), influencing its price and quantity sold.
GLOBALIZATION
The process of interaction and integration among people, companies, and governments of different nations, driven by international trade, investment, and technology.
INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION
A period of major economic, technological, and social change characterized by the transition from agrarian and handicraft economies to industrialized ones, beginning in the late 18th century.
MANIFEST DESTINY
The 19th-century belief that the United States was destined to expand across the North American continent, often used to justify territorial expansion and westward migration.
THE CONSTITUTION
A set of fundamental principles or established precedents according to which a state or other organization is governed.
ECONOMICS
The branch of social science concerned with the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services.
IMMIGRATION
The act of individuals moving into a country or region where they are not native, often for permanent residence.
CULTURAL DIVERSITY
The existence of a variety of cultural or ethnic groups within a society, each with its own customs, traditions, and values.
