What is employability?
It is the responsibility for individual employees to remain employable through self-managing their careers.
Relates to I-Deals: individually negotiated agreements
What is the employability-management paradox?
Paradox where training is short-term (e.g. training a cashier) and development long-term task oriented. Why develop employees if they are likely to job hop?
How does standardization differ is loose-tight societies?
Loose society: less legal constraints and more potential to standardize
Tight society: laws & regulations and trade unions that get in the way of standardization (institutional theory)
Do companies adjust their philosophy / strategy?
Companies do adjust their techniques in regard to the society they operate in however, their philosophy and company values are standardized
