Going along with the majority and believing in their views
Compliance
Going along with the majority even if you don’t agree with their views in order to appear ‘normal’ in that social situation.
Identification
Conforming of what is expected (or you believe is expected) of you in order too fill a social role.

Why might people be impacted by internalisation conformity?
They don’t know how they are ‘supposed’ to behave and so look to others for INFORMATION (hence informational social influence) about how to behave.
Why might people be impacted by compliance conformity?
In order to appear ‘normal’ for fear of rejection or expulsion.
Why might people be impacted by Identification Conformity?
They want to fit a specific role in society, or are trying to imitate the behaviour of a role model.

Normative Social Influence
Normative social influence happens when people conform to a group to fit in or be accepted, even if they don’t agree.
