- In August 18, 1920, The 19th amendment granted women the right to vote.

WORKFORCE
A
- During WW1, Women replaced jobs traditionally held by men, who went to the war. Jobs in the factories and other industries
- 25% Increase in Women in the workforce and although industries were hiring them as they could pay them lower wages than men, it was a significant change for women to be working.

FASHION
A
- Through ‘Buying On Credit’, Women’s fashion changed, dressing more light, flowy dresses as it was more daring and free.
- Short hair became a sign of liberation in comparison to long pre-war hair
- The trend “Flapper”, a liberated urban woman. Wore short skirts, bobbed hair, powdered knees, and a lot of makeup.

- Overall, Women were granted their freedom as they had more free time and consumed more entertainment (women’s magazines increased in sales; millions)

- More women attending college and pursuing careers in traditionally male-dominated fields
- e.g law, medicine, and science.
