PURPOSE OF THE NEW DEAL
A
- Relief - Provide jobs to protect against unemployment and to protect farmers
- Recovery - To get the economy back into high gear ‘priming the pump’
- Reform - To regulate banks, abolish child labour, and to conserve farm lands

FIRST NEW DEAL (1933 - 1934)
A
- The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC): Provided jobs for unemployed young men in conservation and public works projects such as planting trees, building parks and trails, and restoring historic sites.
- The Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA): Provided subsidies to farmers to reduce crop production and increase crop prices. The goal was to stabilise agricultural prices and raise farmers’ incomes.
- The Public Works Administration (PWA): Provided funding for large-scale public works projects such as dams, bridges, and highways, with the goal of creating jobs and stimulating economic growth.
