What are agents of socialisation?
People who you immediately interact with.
What is the result when people dont conform to the culture or follow rules and regulations which society has put in place?
They will be punished, this is known as Social control.
A way to carry out social control is through as system of rewards and punishments, what is this referred to as?
Negative sanctions and positive sanctions
What are examples of negative sanctions?
Sending someone to prison, this controls someone’s behaviour while sending a message to the rest of society that crime is not acceptable.
What are examples of positive sanctions?
A teacher giving out a prize like sweets for good work, ensures that the behaviour is carried on and encourages other to act in the same positive manner.
