Instead let’s look at society in terms of
social structure: patterns of social relationships and distributions of power, wealth and prestige that shape life opportunities

Categories of people who share economic position in society based on a combination of their income, wealth, educations, occupation, and social connections
National Sport Participation Rate Continues to Decline
Fewer than 10% of individuals with household incomes below 20 00 participate in sport regularly
33% of individuals with household income higher than 80 000 participate in sport regularly
- Increased professionalization of community sport
