First Order Change
direct and involves changes only from within the system, not changing the system

changes the system because the innovator steps outside basic assumptions.

unintentional change, shift in population/baby boom and health care.

where social scientists and clients come together to examine and create solutions for social problems.

socially responsible and represent humanitarian values that emphasize enhancing human potential.
Problem oriented change
aimed at solutions of problems rather than theory alone

friend and companion of community activists.
