A
- minority influence due to commitment consistency and flexibility
- they must have internal loc to resist compliance
- disobey authority to drive the point into the limelight
- leads to a snowball effect
- forced to comply due to law

why is social change difficult?
A
- 1) many people are settled in their view and are unwilling to change
- social barriers due to stereotypes people have
2) takes a long time - main issue gets lost and doesn’t get resolved
- effects are delayed

1 drawing attention - highlighting a concern 2 consistency - the message is repeated and the same 3 deeper processing - people don't just accept the status quo and start thinking further 4 augmentation principle - take risks to further the cause 5 snowball effect - majority to minority 6 social cryptomnesia - change has occurred but people have no memory of the events that lead to it
