The Judicial Branch consists of all the courts (federal, tax, military, provincial), and there role is to interpret and apply laws in Canada

The Legislative Branch consists of Parliament, which contains the House of Commons and the Senate, and there role is to make laws

To make decisions as a government and put decisions into action

What is a majority and minority government?
Majority- When the winning party has over 50% of all the seats.
Minority- When the winning party has less than 50% of all the seats, but still has the most compared to the other parties (Liberal party now)

Be a legislator
What is the responsibility of MPs?
They represent constituents and create legislation for peace, order, and good government
What is the role of a Senator?
They represent the interests and rights of Canada’s regions and minorities. They can propose laws, or reject them
What is the responsibility of a Senator?
They make sure all voices are heard/ they give voices to everyone to create balance
What are the 4 main points of Lobbyists?
- A lobbyist is someone hired by a group to influence MPs and Government Officials.
- Lobbyists must register with a Commissioner of Lobbyists
- Lobbyists voice the views of groups on issues that affect their members, products, or services
- Lobbyists Document which MPs and government officials they meet with
