The way it has been crafted. It has been hand crafted using precious jewels. He wanted to keep a historical respect from his ancestors.
Rare wildlife - WC
For example the butterfly shapes represents wildlife. Also the animals and insects are used to represent Feng Shui which symbolises beliefs.

Chan spent his early years mastering this. You can see it through the gems on the butterfly wings and body.

Feng Shui represents animals and insects which symbolises Chinese beliefs.

Because of the patterns being used a lot and the strong colours due to the bright sunlight. Also the dark outline.

The paint is not blended and brushstrokes are thick.

With the ‘block’ pattern for the background. It keeps the composition busy and interesting. Also two different view points.

He learned textiles and still life with turkey vase, looks like it has used textiles. He learned about layering in this training.

Because it had a busy composition and the yellow flowers are bright which contrast with the blues to make it abstract.
