How does Gender affect people in Sport?
The idea that more physical activities are more ‘male’ and others more ‘female’ has mostly disappeared but some activities still offer more one sex opportunities than the other
Who can influence others in sport?
Children take part in the same physical activities, follow the same sports and support which can be focused by his family.
The influence of your peer group - people of the same age, status amd interests as you - is important. It is much easier to succeed with the encouragement and suppor of friends.
Succesful sportspeople may become role models, inspiring others to take up their sport. Being a role model brings with it’s responsibilities.

What is the golden triangle?
The inter-relationship between sport, media and business. Three elements that are now inextricably linked in modern sport.
Ethnicity In sport
Ethnicity refers to those from a population who identify with each other and are united be common cultural, linguistic or religous traits. It influnces wether we play, when we choose to play and what sports we succed in.

What is the term “Increased Media Coverage”?
Increased media coverage has meant that sport has become more and more commercialised. If there were no TV, radio, newspapers and internet, sport would be very different!
How does fashion influence others?
Many activities require the ‘right’ equipmemt - for example, you meed boots to play football. Some brands of sports equipment can be fashionable - and expensive - partly as a result of media coverage of famous sportspeople.
What is the definition of Deviance? Give an example of Deviance in sport?
Behaviour that falls outsode the norms or what is thought to be acceptable; goes against the moral values or laws of the sport.
Diving in the penalty area to try and get a penalty.
What is Negative deviance? And an example of Negative deviance?
Deviance that has a detrimental effect.
Taking PED drugs
Positive Deviance?
Deviance where there is no intention to cause harm or break the rules.
When someone accidently injures another player.
Sportsmanship?
Qualities of fairness, following the rules, being gracious in defeat or victory.
You do not pretend that it did not happen, when touching the ball with your club
Gameship?
Bending the rules/laws of a sport without actually breaking them.
Time waisting time by standing when taking a freekick for a long period of time.
