What are the Visual advantages?
Visual guidance, through a demonstration or video, shows the learner what it looks like.
What are some of the Visual disadvantages?
Visial guidance is given im a form a of a video, but learners aren’t able to ask questions.
What are some of the Verbal advantages?
The coach can explain in further detail and emphasis specific points about the skill
What are some of the Verbal disadvantages?
It is difficult for beginners to understand verbal skill if its hard or complicated.
How and what is Concurrent feedback?
Concurrent feedback is given at the time of the performance - for example, from the coach on the sideline during a match. This sort of feedback can be acted on immediately.
How and what is Terminal feedback?
Terminal feedback is given at the end of a game or performance. This sort of feedback has the benefit of being more reflective and giving an overview of the whole of the performance.
What is Imagery
Mental or physchological technique in which the performer imagines or visualises themselves being successful in their performance.
What does Mental rehearsal mean?
the performer pictures themselves executing a skill and practices the skill in their mind, focusing on the specific stages and correct technique
How does Mental rehearsal help an athlete?
Reduces anxiety Builds confidence Improves concentration Helps you overcome problems Improves results
