Pivot joint
Pivot joint allows boins to rotate. One example would be the neck
Hinge joint
A hinge joint is a joint in the knee,elbow and ankle. It allows foward and backward movement
Ball and socket joint
In a ball and socket joint the rounded head of a long bone fitd into a cupped shape hole
Condyloid joint
A condyloid joint is similar to a ball and sockt but the ball rests against the bone. For examplw the wrist
Flexion
Bending movement that increases the angle between body parts. For example bicep curls
Extension
Straightening movement that pulls towards the midline. A example would be a swimmer swings their arm backwards
Adduction-
Movement that pulls towards the midline. A golfer on a tee swings the club towards the ball
Abduction#
Movement that pulls away from the midline. An example would be a gymnast moves their arm sideways at the shoulder
Rotation-
Movement around a single axis or a pivot point. An example would be tennis player serving
Circumduction-moving in a circular or technical shape. Cricketer throws a ball
Dorsi flexion
Bending or flexing the toes up. An example would be a sprinter positions their feet in the starrinf blocks
Plantar flexion
Extending or pointing the toes down. A floor gymnast points their toes
