what do SNRIs do?
A
- inhibit serotonin, noradrenaline (and dopamine?) reuptake

name two SNRIs?
A
- venlafaxine
- duloxetine

what are the side effects of SNRIs?
A
- Raised BP (at higher doses)
- sexual dysfunction
- toxic in overdose
- non-sedating

what is the problem with venlafaxine? (2)
A
- SSRI action only up to 150mg/day
- high risk of withdrawal
- may need to inform DVLA as it can affect performances of skilled tasks (e.g. driving)

what is the withdrawal like in venlafaxine?
A
- GI disturbance
- headache
- anxiety, dizziness
- paraesthesia
- sleep disturbance
- tremor
