- Chronic obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Cancer (Lung, trachea etc)
How does vaping affect younger people?
-Young vapers are more likely to use tobacco and cigarettes in the future.
-They are more likely to get addicted to other substances.
-They experience higher anxiety, depression and other mental illnesses.
-Increased irritability
-Lower self-esteem.
-Affects brain development - memory, concentration, self-control
- Physical risks such as cancer and heart problems.
How does smoking affects the respiratory system?
- Damages the lungs and airways, which causes Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Emphysema, Chronic Bronchitis etc.
- Damages the lungs by narrowing the airways so blood flow is restricted.
How does smoking affect the cardiovascular system?
- Damages the blood vessels and heart by narrowing the coronary arteries and stopping blood flow.
- This causes blood clots, increases blood pressure and heart rate, and higher risk of strokes and heart diseases.
How does smoking affect the Digestive System?
- Increases the risk of mouth/throut/stomach cancer, peptic ulcers and the overall effectiveness of the digestive system.
How does smoking affect the Reproductive System?
- causes infertility as menstrual cycle is less regular and a decrease in sperm count.
- Risk of erectile dysfunction
- Complications at birth (Low birth weight + stillbirths.)
How does smoking affect the immune system?
- Weakens the overall immune system
- Higher risk of catching infections?bacteria as the immune system won’t be strong enough the fight them off.
- Makes more vulnerable to illnesses + viruses.
