SMFM Bank 1 Flashcards
Linear Regression
Outcome variable is continuous
e.g. gestational age at delivery
Logistic Regression
Outcome variable is categorical and dichotomous (yes/no)
e.g. delivery <37wks vs >37wks
Ordinal Regression
Categorical variables that are naturally ordered
e.g. rating from “strongly agree” to “strongly disagree”
Cox Proportional Hazards Model
Takes into account time to event
e.g. time to delivery, time to death
- Allows you to account for “censoring”
Censoring
The situation where either the event has not yet occurred, but the investigation period is over; or the patient has dropped out of the study
CAH Gene
Autosomal recessive
21-hydroxylase deficiency (90% of cases)
- CYP21 gene on chromosome 6
Risk of recurrence of peripartum cardiomyopathy
If recovered - 20% in subsequent pregnancy
If not recovered - high risk of recurrence/mortality
Recovery after peripartum cardiomyopathy
20% - significant decline, require transplant
30-50% - partial recovery
30-50% - significant improvement
Risk of HSV transmission to neonate
Primary - 30-50%
Recurrent - 3%
Treatment for listeria
IV ampicillin
- If febrile with symptoms
Max dose of lidocaine
4mg/kg
With epi - 7mg/kg
