What is diversity?
the practice or quality of including or involving people from a range of different social and ethnic backgrounds and of different genders, sexual orientations. (Oxford Dictionary, 2022)
What is workplace diversity?
The differences in employees as a result of the coming together of people from various backgrounds. (Inegbedion et al 2020)
What is inclusion/inclusivity?
the extent to which individuals are ‘allowed to participate and are enabled to contribute fully (Miller, 1998)
What are some examples of equality in the workplace?
- equal job opportunities and fairness for employees and job
- Non discrimination against employees by employers on the bases of race, gender, sexuality, tribe etc.
What are the various dimensions in which diversity can be measured?
- Cultural diversity
- Racial diversity
