What is victimization
It is the targeting of an individual or group for subjection to crime, unfair treatment, or another wrong
What is victims of non crime
People who suffer because the government has failed to regulate dangerous activities
What are ordinary rule-benders
includes people with deviant appearances [freaks and geeks] or unusual sexual preferences
What is victims of consciousness
They are people who bend the rules or even break them because their principles will not let them conform to society’s dominant belief
What are examples of ‘victim of consciousness’
They are heretics, whistle-blowers, conscientious objectors, war resisters, or merely bohemians and members of counterculture
