REM Sleep (Rapid Eye Movement)
A
The periods of fast, jerky eye movements were accompanied by energetic brain activity. Awakened during such episode, a person would report having a dream.

A
Sensory experiences that occur without a sensory stimulus.

Hypnagogic Sensations
A
Bizarre experiences, such as jerking or a feeling of falling or floating weightlessly, while transitioning to sleep.

A
Is, collectively, sleep stages 1–3, previously known as stages 1–4. Rapid eye movement sleep is not included.
