What is a slave?
A
A slave is a person owned by their owner and they don’t have freedom.

A
When humans are bought or sold instead of goods.

Why did the British want slaves?
A
European settlers wanted slaves to grow crops and goods so they could make huge amounts of money. To begin with farmers used slaves to help them farm but they ran away or died so new slaves were brought in from Africa.
