Silver lining
phrase used to tell someone that there is a brighter side to the problem they are facing. the phrase comes from the fact that, every dark rain cloud has a silver edge, or lining.
e.g. Silver lining of Super Bowl ordeal is Jeremy joining the book club.
horseplay
rough, boisterous play.
synonyms: tomfoolery, fooling around, grabass, roughhousing
e. g. no horseplay in the gym
off-the-grid
(adj. ) Unrecorded, untraceable through normal means.
e. g. Amish people live off the grid.
e. g. My package was not delivered,a nd has gone off the grid.
stick the landing
Execute flawlessly from the beginning through the end. Follow through.
e.g. All phases of the sales cycle require great attention to detail but to be successful, we must “stick the landing” to close the deal.

snake/snitch
- A scamming backstabber. Someone who does something just to get something out of it.
e. g. Man that snake cheated me out of $220 - an informer
e. g. Don’t trust him, he’s a snake.
croak
- to die
- to kill someone or something
Apparently, he croaked when they got to the hospital.
kick the bucket
Phrase used to say someone is dead or has deceased. Term is derived from when suicides were common by a person preparing to hang themself, and used a bucket to stand on, and then kicked the bucket when suicide was desired.
e.g. Ole’ Charlie kicked the bucket today, we better prepare for his funeral.
tits up
broken; dead in the water, floating
e.g. well that project really went tits up.
what a drag
Phrase used for showing distaste for a situation. Mostly used for something that disrupts pleasurable (often illegal) activates, or requires too much work.
e.g. “Man, that cop busted me with my Jane! What a drag…”,
loose screw
crazy; silly; mad; lunatic; loony; insane
e.g. “She’s a little loose screw for talking like that to us.”
saving grace
n. A redeeming quality, especially one that compensates for one’s shortcomings
e. g. The scintillating conversation was the saving grace of a bad and overpriced meal.
e. g. “Michelle may not be a pretty girl, but those tits are her saving grace.”
bawling my eyes out
To bawl your eyes out is to cry loudly especially for a long time
e.g. “I can’t take the least amount of critism without balling my eyes out”
pussyfoot
To act or proceed cautiously or timidly to avoid committing oneself, like a cat circling carefuly around something it finds distasteful.
e. g. Donald never got the nerve to talk to any of the girls in the bar. He just spent the night pussyfooting around and then went home to choke the bishop.
e. g. Quit pussyfooting around and face the issue head on.
