Proposed that we have two thinking systems, one fast (system 1 - intuitive) and one slow (system 2 - rational).
Since thinking is hard work, it’s best to save it for the hard stuff. Do the simple stuff with as little effort as possible using system 1: automatic, associative, intuitive. When more reflection is required, bring in system 2: deliberate, linear, considerate.
