Sky Science #3 Flashcards
What are the main differences between the inner and outer planets?
Inner: Rocky, No rings, Inside asteroid belt, smaller, closer to the Sun, less gravity, warmer.
Outer: Gas, Rings, Outside asteroid belt, larger, farther from Sun, more gravity, colder.
What are five ways Earth is different then other planets?
Life Perfect distance Protective atmosphere Liquid water Breathable air
Know the differences and similarities between Earth’s moon and the other moons in the solar system?
Earth’s Moon: orbits Earth, soil same as Earth, smooth surface, humans have visited.
Other Moons: never visited by humans, not spherical, different sizes, different soil the Earth.
Similarities: natural satellites, orbit planets, part of solar system, they revolve and rotate, part of the Milky Way.
