Where is the vent located?
It is at the top of the canopy.

At the end of the shroud lines. Holds the air.
Where are the shroud lines located?
Hold the canopy up. And are attached to the object descending.

Solution?

Why this will work: so that a little bit of air can escape.

Make a smaller vent.
Why this will work: Lets less air out.

The force that slows you down.

What makes a hot air balloon rise?
The burner heats the air inside the envelope. Warmer air is less dense, so it makes the balloon lighter.
Why does a hot air balloon have a vent on the top?
The vent allows the hot air to escape, so that the balloon can descend.
