Triceps- midway btw the acromion (end of shoulder) and olecranon process (elbow)
Biceps- 1cm above the tricep point over the belly of the bicep muscle
Where is measurement taken for: Thigh
Vertically
Midway between the inguinal crease (crease of the hip) and the proximal border of the patella, in the anterior of the thigh
(Have client step forward resting weight on the left leg, and measure from the hip fold to knee)
Where is measurement taken for: Suprailliac
Diagonal
Find natural curve of the Ilium in the anterior side, on the anterior axillary line immediately superior to the Iliac crest. (love handle)
(Trace from anterior side of armpit down to hip to find)
Where is measurement taken for: Subscapular
Diagonally
1-2 cm below the inferior angle of the scapula at a 45 degree angle
(Just below the triangle of the scapula)
Where is measurement taken for: Midaxillary
Vertically
On the midaxillarly line (middle of armpit to hip) at the level of the xiphoid process (bottom of sternum) OR
Alternatively
Horizontally at the level of the xiphoid/sternum border (slightly higher)
Where is measurement taken for: Chest/ Pectorals
Diagonally
For MEN: Midway between anterior axillary line (front of armpit) to nipple.
For WOMEN: 1/3 the distance.
Where is measurement taken for: Adominal
Vertically
2 cm to the right of the umbilicus (navel)
Where is measurement taken for: Calf Medial
Vertically
The inside of calf at the largest circumference point.
