actinic keratosis**

A
  • most common precancer**
  • Skin cells proliferating rapidly –> mild hyperkeratotic (not as much as psoriasis)
  • develop into squamous cell carcinoma if left untreated**
  • treat: cream and freezing

squamous cell carcinoma**

A
  • top layer of epidermal cells –> usually more keratotic
  • in situ SCC that hasn’t spread into dermis –> Bone’s disease**
  • HPV can be predisposing factor
  • can spread to other tissues and kill you, unlike BCC**
  • Margillans tumor (type of aggressive squamous cell carcinoma)
