Urticaria
A
•allergic and idiopathic forms
•IgE mediated
Anaphylaxis
Laryngeal edema, bronchospasm, shock, death
•transient wheals that resolve within 24 hours
•lesions migrate, can be associated with angioedema
•Histology: dermal edema, neutrophils, eosinophils
•Principles of Therapy: antihistamine, systemic corticosteroids, epinephrine

Morbilliform Drug Reactions
A
- measles like diffuse and erythematous symmetric papular eruptions
- 5 days to get sensitised to new drug
- can occur from re-introduction of a previous drug
- Histology: perivascular lymphocytes
- Principles of Therapy: eliminate the drug based on probabilities

A
•Drug Reaction with Eosinophils and Systemic Symptoms
•rare, severe, drug induced hypersensitivity reaction
*fever, rash, lymphadenopathy, facial swelling, organ involvement (liver, kidney, lung)

A
- tender erythematous nodule son anterior lower legs
- women 20-30
- associated with infections or drugs, IBD, sarcoidosis, Hodgkin’s Disease
- Histology: inflammation of fibrous septa between fat lobules
- Principles of Therapy: eliminate cause
